2025: Intelligence for the Most Complex Problems
A note from Our CEO
As we step into 2025, I am reminded of why I started Improving Aviation: to tackle some of the toughest challenges our world faces today. Wildfires and UAS Management are not just technical problems—they are global challenges requiring bold solutions. At Improving Aviation, we’re committed to driving meaningful change through innovative technology, real-time data, and seamless integration that empowers decision-makers to act swiftly and effectively. In this new year, I look forward to collaborating with partners, experts, and our dedicated team to make 2025 a year of impactful progress.
The Escalating Wildfire Crisis
Wildfires have become more frequent, intense, and devastating, with 90% of structural losses caused by embers traveling far from the main fire. In 2024, the United States experienced one of its most destructive wildfire seasons, costing billions in firefighting and recovery efforts. The wildland-urban interface, where communities meet wildlands, has grown significantly, putting more people and properties at risk.
Our WindTL platform is designed to address these challenges head-on. By integrating real-time data from drones, sensors, and satellites with advanced AI and machine learning, WindTL provides precise ember spread predictions and actionable insights. This allows firefighting teams to allocate resources more effectively, and protect vulnerable areas. With WindTL, we aim to redefine how wildfires are managed, offering solutions that operate even in low-connectivity environments.
The Complex Landscape of Drone Management
Drones offer incredible potential for disaster response, surveillance, and logistics. However, their rapid proliferation has introduced significant challenges. Recent incidents in the U.S. highlight growing concerns such as security risk, privacy invasions, and airspace management challenges.
SkyTL, our UAS Management Platform is designed to address these concerns. By integrating sensor fusion, AI analytics, and 2D visualization, along with plans to incorporate 3D visualization, it provides real-time situational awareness and robust airspace management. Whether detecting unauthorized drones near sensitive infrastructure or coordinating drone operations, including swarms, for disaster response or defense missions, our platform enhances safety, transparency, and efficiency.
Why These Technologies Matter
The stakes are high. Wildfires cost the U.S. between $394 billion and $893 billion annually, including structural losses, lives lost, and income disruption. Meanwhile, the drone industry continues to grow exponentially, with significant implications for security, privacy, and operations.
We believe that technology holds the key to solving these challenges. By leveraging AI and real-time data integration, we aim to create safer, smarter, and more resilient systems for wildfire and drone management.
Looking Ahead in 2025 At Improving Aviation, our mission is to break barriers and build resilience. By advancing WindTL and SkyTL, we’re addressing two of the most critical issues of our time—wildfire resilience and drone safety. This year, we’ll be showcasing our technologies at leading conferences across the United States, collaborating with experts, and refining our solutions to meet evolving challenges.
If you’re ready to see our technology in action, we’d be thrilled to provide a live demo. Whether you're a wildfire manager, a first responder, or part of the drone industry, let’s work together to create safer, smarter, and more resilient communities.
